If you were inspired by my post on my Clarks Beeswax Desert Boots recently, but are looking for something a little bit more formal and a little bit different, look no further.
Aussie brand Vanishing Elephant has just the ticket: Navy blue leather desert boots.
It’s a slightly sleeker take on the desert boot, with a buttery-looking, full grain leather upper and a leather sole (rather than the traditional crepe rubber). The contrast between the navy upper and the tan midsole gives the shoe a bit of playfulness, though. So don’t be afraid to wear these as a day to day piece.
Maybe it’s the Spring weather in NYC today seeping into my brain, but I personally think they’d look great worn sockless with a pair of rolled chinos and a white button up. Something to spice up a very standard warm weather look…

They’re currently available at Need Supply for $225. They have a pretty decent assortment of sizes on hand, so small- and large-footed alike can rejoice.

(Ed’s Note: In doing my research for this post, I noticed that Selectism also covered them, at the beginning of last month. So, credit where credit’s due. Nice find, guys!)
