Amazing. Now a pair of shoes made in the USA costs $275. I remember when ALL Eastland and Dexter shoes were made in Maine and cost around $50 a pair. Now they charge you $75 for a pair made in a sweatshop in China. What has happened to this country? It sure has changed a lot in only 20 years.

That aside, this is a nice collection. I bought a pair of the Yarmouth One-Eyed Mocs online and love them. They remind me of the Eastland shoes I wore in school 25 years ago.

"Slipperish" might have been too much (although I'm glad we've introduced the word "slipperish" to the conversation 4 times now). But you get what I'm sayin'--with the welt, they look almost like a wedge-soled work show. It's a really good look.

No need for apologies, man. Open forum for discussion and all that!

On the lining front, you're right. I'm not sure if they have an option available, but these weren't lined in the same manner as Quoddy's if I remember correctly (and the pics support that recollection).

I can definitely see similarities with Quoddy, too. But let's keep in mind, there ain't nothing new under the sun. Mocs in general have been around for AGES. It's a genuinely classic shoe style and Quoddy certainly didn't write the book on this one.

That said: I think you'd be making a good call with either option.

I really dig that color as well. But blue? Who they foolin!?

As for the exposed leather on the welt: I like it, too. I don't tend to feel the camp sole looks too slipperish, myself, but I can certainly appreciate the added heft.

These shoes and boots look nice but they're nothing new. Imho they are copies of Quoddy mocs. They don't appear to be lined and as nice as chromexcel is it's even nicer lined.

I'll take a pair of Quoddy's over these any day of the week, sorry.

You're right, this was a good, deep collection. I particularly like that purple-grey (they said blue, but they were covering their butts) and the heavily printed leather. And I think it's great how the exposed leather welt toughens them all up--even the normally slipperish camp sole looks hefty with the strip of leather on top of it.
