Just grabbed this leather Billykirk shell/work-style messenger bag from Gilt. I have no idea if it was ever actually on the general market (I’d never seen it before the Gilt sale), but I don’t really mind either way. I trust the Billykirk folks to put out a solid product, and I’m looking forward to receiving mine.
I’ll post up actual photos and my thoughts on the piece when it arrives. For now, consider this a preview.

Thanks, man! It was $138 before tax and shipping. $161 all told. I haven’t received it yet, but going on the photos, it was a steal. I’ll update as soon as I’ve got it in hand.
I bought this also, but I think it’s going back. I feel like it looks too much like a purse :-/
All the Billykirk stuff was final sale, man. While I can understand the purse-lookin’ worry, I think it’s a suitably masculine bag. Do it up with some old school workwear style gear. Since it’s a vintage inspired bag, that might round out the look and allay some of your worries…
